Toki (土岐市; -shi) is a city located in the Gifu prefercture in Japan. It is located on the Honshu island and lies on the Toki River.
During the civil wars in the Momoyama period (1568 - 1614) refugees from the city of Seto settled in Toki. These happened under the protection of the lords of Toki. A significant numer of these refugeese were potters. Oribe ware for tea ceremonies was produced in Toki. The city is still noted for the quality of its pottery.
The city was formally founded on February 1, 1955.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 62,700 and the density of 540.47 persons per km². The total area is 116.01 km².
