Treaty of Greenville

The Treaty of Greenville was signed between a coalition of Native American tribes and the United States following the Native American loss at the Battle of Fallen Timbers. The United States was represented by Anthony Wayne, the General who defeated Native Americans and razed their villages a year earlier at Fallen Timbers. In exchange for monetary compesnation the Native Americans turned over to the United States:

White settlers largely ignored the boundaries of this treaty, and after its signing settlements sprang up quickly in Native American territory.
