Tucows is an acronym for
The Ultimate Collection of Winsock(et) Software a popular website containing hundreds of
shareware,
freeware, and
demo software. A system of mirror sites are maintained to allow the traffic to the site to be destributed among several world wide server locations. Tucows contains sofware for the major computer platforms, and older platforms (Notabily:
Windows 3.x).
The Mascot for Tucows is infact two cows staring at each other. Additionally, for a ratings system for quality of software they utilize cow icons.
