Tulips Shall Grow
Tulips Shall Grow is a
1942 animated short film about a
Dutch boy and girl whose idyllic existence is destroyed when they are overrun by mechanical men who lay waste to everything they touch, and is generally recognized as a not-so-subtle pro-Dutch, anti-
German film. It was directed by
George Pal.
The cartoon was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Short Subject, Cartoons and has been deemed "culturally significant" by the United States Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry.
