The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) is one of the University of California campuses. It is located on the central coast of California, near the community of Isla Vista.
The University has three colleges: the College of Letters & Science, the College of Engineering and the College of Creative Studies. UCSB has been ranked consistently in the top ten research institutions in the United States and has internationally renowned programs in physics, computer science, chemistry, religious studies, physical anthropology and ethnomusicology. UCSB is center to many endowed chairs, including the Corwin Endowed Chair in Music Composition and an Endowed Chair in Sikh (Sikkh) Studies.
