USS Garrupa (SS-359)

USS Garrupa (SS-359), a Perch-class submarine, was the only submarine of the United States Navy to be named for the garrupa, one of various fishes of the grouper type. Her keel was laid down at Electric Boat Company of Groton, Connecticut, but was canceled on 29 July 1944.
