USS Minneapolis-Saint Paul (SSN-708)
USS Minneapolis-St. Paul is
US Navy Los Angeles class submarine and was built by Electric Boat. The
keel was laid on
January 20,
1981 and the ship was launched over two years later on
March 19,
1983. The ship was commissioned on
March 10,
1984.
SSN-708 took part in Operation Desert Shield and the Gulf War and was the first submarine to carry Tomahawk missiles specifically designated for use in strikes against Iraq during the Gulf War.
