Two ships of the United States Navy have been named USS Wright, the first named for Orville Wright, and second honoring both him and his brother Wilbur.
The first Wright (AV-1) was originally launched in 1920 an airship tender AZ-1, then converted to a seaplane tender and in use as such until 1944, then converted to the headquarters ship AG-79, renamed to San Clemente in 1945, and scrapped in 1946.
