Uto-Aztecan
Uto-Aztecan is a
family of
Native American languages found mostly among peoples native to the
Southwest of the
USA and northwestern
Mexico. Uto-Aztecan-speaking peoples range from
California to
Guatemala.
The family is normally split into a northern branch, including among others Paiute, Shoshone, and Hopi, and a southern branch, including Tarahumara and Nahuatl.
