Van der Graaf Generator
Van der Graaf Generator were a seminal
1970s progressive rock band who were innovative in their use of
synthesizers and eclectic lyrics. The singer with the band was multi-instrumentalist and poet
Peter Hammill who has subsequently pursued a successful solo career. They were probably best known for their album
Pawn Hearts.
Their name is a common misspelling of Van de Graaff generator; it is not clear whether the misspelling is deliberate in this case.
