Vinnie Colaiuta

Vinnie Colaiuta began his drumming career in 1979 by auditioning for Frank Zappa at the age of 19. He did so by a) playing the Black Page from memory, b) sight reading some of Frank's newly written orchestral music (which starts with a bunch of crazy 11 groupings) and c) jamming with Frank's band in 21/16 time. He replaced Terry Bozzio.
