Virgin Megastore

Virgin Megastore is a chain of records shops throughout the world, established by Richard Branson. Contrary to popular belief, product sold in these stores does not only reflect the stock released by sister company Virgin Records. In fact most stores have a wide selection of releases by many current popular artists on many diverse mainstream and independent labels, as well as books, DVDs, videos, vinyl LPs and assorted gift items. Many stores house their own cafes as well, selling coffee beverages and a limited assortment of snack items, making for a popular central meeting place. Current stores include:

• Paris: (Champs Elysees)
• New York: (Times Square)
• Chicago: (Michigan Avenue)
• Vancouver: (Robson and Burrard)
• Las Vegas: (Caesar's Palace)
• Tokyo: (The Ginza)

There are several more stores as well. Virgin opened a brand new store in Kuwait City mere days before the 2003 Iraq War.
