W.J. Turner
Walter James Turner (
1884 –
1947) was born in
Melbourne,
Australia, but left for
London to pursue a career in writing. He wrote plays, novels, poetry, music and drama criticism.
Yeats once stated that Turner's poetry left him "lost in admiration and astonishment."
