Wagga Wagga

Wagga Wagga lies on the Murrumbidgee River and is a significant rural city in southern New South Wales, Australia. The population (2003) is around 57,000.

Wagga is the Wiradjuri aboriginal word for crow and to create the plural, the Wiradjuri repeat the word. Thus Wagga Wagga translates as 'the place of many crows'.
