Xserve
The
Xserve is a 1U
rack-mountable server made by
Apple Computer. Recent Xserve is based on the
G5 processor with an older generation based on
G4. It runs
Mac OS X Server, an
operating system also made by Apple Computer based on
NEXTSTEP and
Mac OS Classic. Before the Xserve, Apple sold a PowerMac G4 as a server.
