Yallaroi Shire, New South Wales

Yallaroi Shire is a local government area in the Australian State of New South Wales. It is located in the north-western region of New South Wales.

Census 2001 Statistics

Population: On Census Night, 7 August 2001, there were 3129 people (1616 males and 1513 females) counted in Yallaroi Shire. This represents a decrease of 3.0% since the 1996 Census, and a decrease of 11.6% since the 1991 Census. Of those people counted on Census Night, 95.7% were counted at home. Yallaroi Shire has an area of 5340 square kilometres, giving a population density of 0.59 people per square kilometre.

Indigenous Origin: There were 47 people (1.5%) who identified as being of Indigenous origin in the 2001 Census.

Median Age: The median age of people in the 2001 Census was 38 years.

Unemployment: In the 2001 Census, 93 people were unemployed, representing 6.7% of the labour force. The labour force participation rate was 70.1%.
