Yvonne Kennedy
Yvonne Kennedy (???? - September 11, 2001), retired. She lived in Westmead,
Australia where she was a volunteer for the Australian Red Cross in New South Wales from 1976 to 1990. She earned the Australian Red Cross Service Award in 1986. After her husband's death in 1990, she took a position as senior administrator with the
Red Cross. On May 8th, 2001 she was awarded the State Distinguished Service Award of Australian Red Cross. In 2001 she retired after twenty-five years of service.
Kennedy died at 62 in the crash of American Airlines flight 77 in the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attack. She was heading home from her retirement tour of the United States and Canada. The Friday before the crash she sent an e-mail message to her friend letting her know she was on her way back after her wonderful trip.
She is survived by her two sons.
