Albert Stubbins

Albert Stubbins (July 13 1920 - 28 December 2002) was a football player who played thirty times for Newcastle United FC and scored six goals for the team. He played in the position of centre-forward until the onset of World War II. In war-time games he scored a 188 goals in just 231 appearances.

It is his career with Liverpool FC which gained him most fame, including an appearance on the front cover of The Beatles' Sergeant Peppers album. He also has a Liverpool FC fan club named in his honour.
