Nokia Series60
Nokia Series 60 is a
platform for mobile phones which uses the
Symbian OS.
Series 60 is currently amongst the leading smartphone platform in the world. It is licensed by some of the foremost mobile phone manufacturers in the world including Siemens, Samsung, Panasonic, Sendo and Nokia.
The Series 60 Platform is a multivendor standard for smartphones that supports application development in Java™ MIDP, C++, and browsing environments.
These are a few common features in Series 60:
- Devices display resolution is 176 x 208.
- It supports Java (J2ME/MIDP 1.0) + applications and Symbian C++ applications.
- It is designed to be easy and fast to use.

2003) there are three Series 60 versions in the market which contains following devices:

- Nokia 7650 also known as Calypso (Production closed down)
Series 60 - Version 1.0
Series 60 - Version 2.0
- Version 2.0 utilizes new features like J2ME/MIDP 2.0 support and 16bit colors.
- Nokia 6600 also known as Calimero
