Old school gamer
An
"old school" gamer is a
video game player or critic who believes that older video games (especially
SNES games) are more amusing than today's video games. The opposites are called "new school" gamers. At the time of the NES and SNES, video game companies had to focus on game attributes other than graphics, due to the graphical limitations of the 8-bit and 16-bit consoles. "Old school" gamers nowadays rely on secondhand markets or
console emulation to play games.
