Spanish singer Rosa Lopez was born in Granada on January 14 1981. Already as a child she surprised everybody in her family with her singing talent. She sang with a small orchestra at parties in the Granada area.
Because of her talent, she was chosen to participate in the singing academy of Spanish television, Operación Triunfo. A few months she was on television every week and her popularity in Spain grew. She finally won Operacion Triunfo 2002 and was elected to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002. The song she brought to the contest in Tallinn was called "Europe's living a celebration". In spite of the title, the song was sung in Spanish. Rosa ended up in 7th place and is now one of the biggest stars in Spain.
