Swissair

Swissair, short for "Swiss Air Transport Company Limited".

Switzerland's national carrier was grounded in October 2001 because of liquidity problems. On March 31, 2002, its 71 year history came to an end, when most of the assets were taken over by Crossair which became Swiss International Air Lines. They formerly used SR as their IATA Call Code.
