Vänern is the largest lake in Sweden. It is drained by Göta älv, togeather with which it forms part of the waterway across Sweden, created by Göta kanal. Geographically the lake is located in Götaland and bounded by the Provinces of Westrogothia, Dalia, Wermelandia and Nericia. The ridge Kinnekulle is located by the eastern shore of Vänern.
